The Better Life Pathway consists of 6 interconnected programs that are heart-centred, real life focused, forward thinking and believe fully in the people who participate.

The Pathway applies to young people, students, people of all ages, people who are unemployed or struggling financially, people from different cultures, people wanting new directions – generally people who are wanting to improve their lives!

Better Life Programs

The Better Life Programs are tailored to participants’ individual needs, strengths, talents, aspirations and passions and experienced within a group setting. The Better Life Programs suit adults wanting to improve their lives in key areas such as finances, housing, work and community engagement. We offer the Better Life Programs for Human Services Organisations as an additional offering to your service users or as a public program.

This pathway is also tailored to suit young people and for this target group we refer to the programs as Real Life Learning. The 6 programs are tailored for the lives of young people when they are leaving school, a tertiary institution or have started work.

So if your organisation is a Human Services Organisation or Educational Institution and you have young people who want to or need to learn real life skills such as being a tenant, seeking a job or managing finances then the Real Life Learning Pathway could be your answer!

We have highly skilled, trained and experienced leaders who can deliver the programs in partnership with you. Based on our human design, person-centred and strengths-based approach we can also work with you in co-creating programs and activities with your service users. Our programs use fun and creativity as a basis for learning.

Contact us to inquire about the Better Life Programs, the Real Life Learning Programs or how working with you we can transform the lives of people in your community. Each program is stand alone or can be delivered as a Pathway:

  1. My self
  2. My money
  3. My calling
  4. My place
  5. My community
  6. My future

Here are three of the programs:

My money

My money is a unique program designed to increase confidence, motivation, knowledge and skills about finances. My Money is short for My Money Keys.

The 6 Money Keys focus on personal and family money beliefs, goal setting, spending and earning, debt, saving and creating supportive money buddies in an interactive, fun and creative way.

Money Keys grew from community consultations across Queensland and has been reviewed and approved by the Griffith University Ethics Committee to meet community ethical standards and Financial Literacy Foundation methodology.

My calling

My calling is a fun and interactive 10 session program for people of all ages who want a job, a different job, or wish to explore a solo business idea.

The program unearths the strengths, talents and passions of the participant as a basis for clarifying each participants’ calling. We introduce community engagement and life-long learning as important criteria for working into the future, as well as job readiness. We help participants assess and plan to meet the 7 characteristics employers are seeking.

As ‘portfolio’ work is relevant now and into the future, we also explore how to build a successful portfolio that includes foundational and technical skills, and how to set-up a micro-business. My calling is future-focused in a time of declining full-time work!

My place

This program educates participants in the range of housing options available to them and tenant rights and responsibilities using simple clear messages, games and fun activities. It also focuses on how to sustain their tenancy. My place is relevant for would-be or first-time renters and current renters needing a refresher.

My Place is also offered as a ‘Train the Facilitator’ resource that can be delivered by community organisations, colleges and schools to groups or individuals. Content includes lesson plans, delivery scripts, activities and project ideas to increase engagement and sustain tenancies.

The resource was initially funded under the Residential Tenancies Authority’s Community Education Public Grants Scheme and updated to reflect the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008. The program’s content is relevant across Australia and could even by applied internationally.
